[Based on a SF Bay Area Darfur Coalition action alert:]
The people of Sudan need your voice more than ever.
Send a text message to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at 90822 telling her that urgent, intense, and sustained action by the United States NOW is critical to (1) restore humanitarian aid to Sudan, and (2) end the genocide in Sudan.
The Government of Sudan has expelled most of the major humanitarian aid agencies from Sudan in response to the International Criminal Court arrest warrant against President al-Bashir for crimes against humanity and war crimes.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has confirmed that 4.7 million people are dependent on humanitarian aid for life necessities. (The UN will investigate whether these expulsions constitute war crimes.)
Darfuris report today that people displaced due to recent fighting continue to walk over 20 miles to camps with no resources, and that Janjaweed militias are attacking Darfuri camps and villages.
This is a time for extreme urgency. Please send your text message to Secretary of State Clinton at 90822 today. Thank you.
