Make Your Voice Heard: Write, Call, and Email Your Public Officials

APRIL 2008
Click here to send a Darfur petition to your Senators and Representative.
Take action today and every day:
Download the OurPledge.org Advocacy Packet for April 2008 (PDF format), and start contacting your public leaders about the need for strong sanctions and immediate multinational protection to stop the genocide in Darfur.
The Advocacy Packet includes both a letter-writing template and call script. The packet tells you how to call and write your public officials, and what to say to them. It puts forward a set of strong policy recommendations — recommendations that have been agreed to by a consensus within the Darfur advocacy movement.
If we’re going to change Darfur policies in Washington, DC and in the international community, our leaders need to confront an unprecedented torrent of conscience. It might seem like Americans have been doing a lot Darfur advocacy these past few years, but in reality the tipping point hasn’t been reached. The challenge now is to generate an exponential increase in social action for Sudan—here, the Darfur movement is working hard to add hundreds of thousands of voices to its ranks.
Letter by letter, phone call by phone call, and email by email, this people-powered movement will create a steady outcry that President Bush and our Members of Congress can’t and won’t ignore.
